son of henrietta and jonathan; he is the third born of their five children and a fraternal twin, taking the role of the elder of the two by a mere twenty-six minutes. between family, pets, and stray neighborhood kids, life at the bernard household was rarely ever dull and to say that his upbringing was anything but privileged and fortunate would be an awful lie. graduated from virginia tech with a ba in landscape architecture. what? of course it's not a useless major! what are you talking about? upon returning home, he decided that a proper way to spend his "adult life" would be to waste his degree entirely and open up a comic shop instead, aptly named "the comic cellar," alongside his partner in crime,
gaelen. it's located downtown and doesn't get nearly enough business; as such, he's in a great deal of debt because of it. worst of all? he doesn't really care much for comics. damnit. gael does, though, and when it comes right down to it, it's very literally impossible for harris to tell him no - especially when there are beers involved during the decision making process. he is a warmhearted kind of guy: always willing to lend an ear, or shoulder, to anyone in need. enormously selfless. adores
corine, who's been his girlfriend since senior year of high school. tends to have a dry and sometimes immature sense of humor. has a bit of an obsession when it comes to terrible horror movies, h.p. lovecraft, mini-golf and man vs. food. hopes to own a papillon named dagon one of these days. isn't hugely fond of cats, his neighbors, or even his shoddy apartment, but there's not much he can do about any of those particular things; otherwise, he's one of those "life is grand" types of people.
